SIX STEPS TO DESIGN SUCCESS

STEP 1 - CONSULTATION & BRIEF

We will discuss your needs and any initial ideas you have. If your brief is already complete, that’s great, send it to us by email and we can discuss this with you over the phone. If you don’t quite know what you‘d like and need some advice we can assist you there too. If you are local, why not pop in to see us and discuss your requirements, its often easier face to face, and we can show anything relevant on our macs. We are often busy with clients or deadlines, so it’s best to call ahead and arrange an appointment.

STEP 2 – WORKS BEGINS ON YOUR DESIGN

When you have chosen your specific product and your brief is complete, we’ll get to work on the concept for you. Our graphic design team will always aim high, we want to make the finished product the best it can be to help enhance your business profile and appeal to your target audience. We prefer to take a little time at this point to get it right, but will always work to your deadline.

STEP 2 – WORKS BEGINS ON YOUR DESIGN

Depending on the product chosen and whether you require more than one design to choose from, we’ll get to work on the concept for you. We prefer to take a little time at this point to get it right, but will always work to your deadline.

STEP 3 – YOUR FEEDBACK & AMENDS

Once we send you the email proofs of your design, we’ll need you to check it over, to make sure everything is where it should be and you are happy for your product to go into production. Should you decide that the design needs a re-think, we will discuss the best way of moving forward with the concept and taking on board your input, we will offer some alternative ideas. We do not charge for minor revisions of the initial version.

STEP 4 – APPROVAL

It’s always great to get your approval, but we encourage you to check the design thoroughly. We cannot stress how easy it can be to get a digit wrong in a phone number for example. In fact all contact information is crucial, and grammar or spelling also have to be checked carefully. Once you have given your approval and the product has gone to production, it is likely to be too late to make any changes.

STEP 5 – PRODUCTION

Once your design has been approved, we prepare the files into a format so that they are ready to print. If you want to understand what we do at this stage, see how to supply artwork. Your job is then sent into production and we’ll manage the job through the various stages from our workflow system. Digital print runs can be turned around within 24 hours in some cases and most lithographic jobs will be 4-6 working days. Some products, like invoice pads (NCR) or presentation folders can take longer to produce, sometimes up to 10 working days.
